The Fire and Rescue Service of Latvia is a Member of the International Association of Fire and Rescue services (CTIF), established in Paris in 1900, with the aim of promoting cooperation between firefighters and other experts in the field of fire and Rescue worldwide. The CTIF organisation comprises 39 Member States and 58 associated members, including a number of private and public organisations such as fire-fighting and rescue equipment manufacturers, training centres, etc. THE CTIF can be considered as an international network of fire-fighting and rescue expertise and information representing the interests of more than 5 million firefighters and rescuers.
THE CTIF organises regular meetings of the General Assembly and the Permanent Council, international conferences as well as international competitions in firefighting sport every two years attended by firefighters and rescuers and representatives of the youth organisation.
THE ACTIVITIES of THE CTIF are important in preparing studies, organising projects and regularly preparing and conducting a comprehensive analysis of global statistics on fires covering information on 80 different countries and 90 capitals.
