The Civil Protection Directors General Meeting, organized within the framework of the Estonian Presidency of the Council of the Baltic Sea States, will take place in Laulāsma (Estonia) from 3 to 4 June 2025. Latvia will be represented at the meeting by Colonel Mārtiņš Baltmanis, Chief of the State Fire and Rescue Service.
The event will discuss topics such as current civil protection measures, civil-military cooperation, public-private sector cooperation, as well as issues related to potential threats to critical infrastructure.
The Estonian presidency of the Council of the Baltic Sea States began on July 1, 2024 and will last until June 30 of this year. Starting from July 1, 2025 until December 31, 2026, the presidency will be taken over by Poland, therefore it is planned that at the end of the meeting, the Estonian Rescue Board will present the symbol of the presidency – a bell – to the Polish National Fire Service.
