160th anniversary of the State Fire and Rescue Service

May 2025 was made special by the fact that the State Fire and Rescue Service celebrated the 160th anniversary of Firefighting in Latvia. As part of various events and activities, service employees looked back on the path they had traveled, on the changes they had made in order to improve, becoming even more professional, even stronger, even more operational. And above all, the State Fire and Rescue Service employees honored their mission - "To work for society, preventing accidents and saving lives, property, and the environment.".

In order to implement the State Fire and Rescue Service's mission, every employee and cooperation partner plays a very important role. Seven award events were held in May, honoring more than 1,000 people - State Fire and Rescue Service employees and cooperation partners, as well as fellow citizens who were able to remain calm in critical moments and selflessly went to rescue those in distress. On May 16, while laying flowers at the Freedom Monument and participating in a church service in Riga Cathedral, the State Fire and Rescue Service employees commemorated and thanked everyone who has made an invaluable contribution to the development of firefighting in Latvia.

One for all, all for one!
