III World Championship among Juniors in Fire and Rescue Sport and the 37th Baltic Championship in Fire and Rescue Sport took place in Latvia, Valmiera from 17th-22nd of July, 2012. Decision about organising the III World Championship in Valmiera was made during XI congress of the International Sport Federation of Firefighters and Rescuers on 7th-10th of December, 2011 in Berlin, Germany.
The aim of the III World Championship among juniors is:

  • Developing of the fire-fighting sports on international level and popularizing of firefighter-rescuer profession among juniors;
  • Involve juniors in to the fire-fighting and rescue sports activities;
  • Develop cooperation and exchange experience in training of fire-fighters and rescuers.

Fire and Rescue Sport is a combination of athletics and fire-fighting elements. Junior teams from more than 10 countries and junior and adult teams from Baltic States will determine the winners in four disciplines: 100 m obstacle course competition; an assault ladder competition; 4×100 m fire-fighters relay race competition and fire attack deployment competition.
